Nostalgia-My 50's Childhood

As a little girl in the 50's, my childhood was spent in Reading, PA. When you talk about this time period, we find most people believe the old days were the best days. Before Reading's downturn in its economy, it was a bustling city with lots of manufacturing and decent paying jobs. We had an attractive and active downtown and a main street which offered many stores for shopping. We had a railway and an airport. Our family were a bit on the poor side as was everyone in our neighborhood, but some of the best things about this time period was we felt safe and did not worry about our well-being. The neighborhood was full of ethnic groups and we all got along reasonably well. Crime was at a minimum. The food we ate was wholesome and delicious and though we did not know the latest nutrition facts, we ate very healthy and moms were all pretty good cooks. No one used pesticides. As children, we went Trick or Treating and folks invited us into their homes. We accepted those invitations and never believed we were in danger. We walked along our streets with no fear of being molested. Life was simple and though not easy sometimes, it was manageable. We felt at peace in our surroundings and loved and protected in our homes. Each person's private recollection could be a little different, but for most of us, it was a good life. Neighbors looked out for the children and believed it "takes a village." We had neighbors that were nice and friends who cared about us. There was little prejudice where I grew up and no one acted superior to their neighbors. There were among the people we met a strong sense of values and most people practiced a faith. Manners were taught and people were polite to each other. Respect was given and expected. The kindness, rudeness and disruption were not part of our daily lifeIf I’m painting a picture of Ozzie and Harriet, I do not believe I exaggerate too much, but that was how I remember it. We were happy!!!

Doc fetch goes through Layer's Aerospike pull-through cache; cache hit served the row without touching turbopuffer. The similar query asks Layer for nearest neighbors of the stored product vector — queries don't go through the doc cache, so no cache header is set.
